CAP-CRM Prize in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics

The objective of this award is to recognize research excellence in the fields of theoretical and mathematical physics. The award is not limited to CAP members but the candidates' research should have been done in Canada or in affiliation with a Canadian organization.

In 1995, the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) and the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) created, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the CAP, a joint annual prize in recognition of exceptional achievements in theoretical and mathematical physics.

2009 Winner - Hong Guo, McGill University

The next CAP-CRM Prize in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics will be awarded in 2010, and the deadline for nominations is January 15, 2010. Nominators must be a member in good standing of the CAP or a Council/CRM-approved Canadian professional science society (see list).

NEW - Effective 2007 November 22, nominations for the CAP medals will be accepted through our secure, online submission site.  The medal guidelines, including a list of documentation required in support of the nomination, can be viewed by clicking here.  Please note that nominators can create a nomination and return at a later date to add the required documentation as it becomes available.  The nomination will only be considered submitted once all of the required documentation has been supplied. For CAP members, the online process can be accessed by logging in to the Member Services webpage. All others should access the process through the non-member nomination page.
