  * As decided at the 2007 September 29 meeting of Council, effective immediately (2008 nomination cycle), for CAP-only medals, the nominator must be a member of the CAP and nominees MUST be a member in good standing of the CAP or a Council-approved Canadian professional science society (see list) in order to be nominated. For joint medals, consult the specific medal guidelines to see what membership requirements apply to those medals.
