H. Roy Krouse, University of Calgary, for his outstanding contributions to many different applied research areas, ranging from fossil fuel recovery and geological exploration to food industry to instrument development. |

The CAP/DCMMP Brockhouse Medal (for Outstanding Experimental or Theoretical Contributions to Condensed Matter and Materials Physics) is awarded to:
Mark Sutton, McGill University, for the development of X-ray Intensity Fluctuation Spectroscopy (XIFS) and its application to measuring the dynamics of materials on the nanometer length scale. |

The CAP Medal for Excellence in Teaching is awarded to:
Napoleon Gauthier, Royal Military College, for his ability to motivate and deeply inspire his students, his active involvement in the Physics Olympiad, his many publications on teaching-related subjects, and his actions as a committed and enthusiastic physics ambassador to the community at large as well as within the academic environment. |

The CAP Herzberg Medal (for outstanding achievement by a physicist aged 40 or less) is awarded to:
Michel Gingras, University of Waterloo, for his profound theoretical studies of random disorder and frustrated magnetism in condensed matter systems. |

The CAP Medal for Achievement in Physics is awarded to:
William J.L. Buyers, National Research Council, Chalk River, for his development of neutron scattering techniques for the study of magnetic phenomena in metals and insulators, and for his leadership role in the Canadian neutron scattering community. |
All recipients have been invited to give a plenary lecture during the 2001 CAP Congress at the University of Victoria from June 17-20. The medals will be awarded during the Congress banquet to be held on 2001 June 19th.
