CAP CAM2009 Presenter Scholarships

The CAP and the SMF are pleased to provide CAM2009 Presenter Scholarships for up to thirty (30) graduate students pursuing their MSc or PhD at a Canadian university. These scholarships will cover the registration fee (sponsored by CAP), accommodation and breakfast at the conference hotel (sponsored by SMF), and $500 towards airfare.

The competition for these funding grants will be adjudicated by the CAP CAM2009 organizing committee, with the assistance of representatives from the CAP's subject Divisions.

The deadline for the submission of scholarship applications is August 31, 2009. Students and the CAM conference organizers will receive notification of the committee's decision no later than September 15, 2009, at which time students should register and submit their abstract to CAM2009 at http://cam2009.smf.mx by the September 18 deadline, if possible, but no later than September 21).

Information for CAP CAM2009 Presenter Scholarship Applicants (please read before you apply)

To be eligible for a CAP CAM2009 Presenter Scholarship you need to be a graduate student member in good standing in the CAP. If you have never been a graduate student member in the CAP, your first year is free (including anyone who was an undergraduate member last year and this will be their first year as a graduate member). To join the CAP, click here. To renew your graduate student membership, you need to complete the student verification form found here. You will then be sent instructions on how to renew your membership.

You will need the following to fill out the form:

  • Your CAP Membership Number
  • The abstract of your proposed presentation (in pdf or doc)
  • Information about source(s) of supplemental travel funding (either secured or requested)
  • A statement from your supervisor, graduate officer, or departmental Chair that states their support of your attendance at this conference (in pdf or doc)
  • Your CV or resumé (in pdf or doc)
