Spin Correlated Ultra Cold Atoms


Recent experiments on cold atoms in optical traps and optical lattices have revealed many exciting properties of correlated atoms which are beyond the scope of condensation of spinless atoms.

In this talk I offer an introduction to various spin correlated states of cold atoms recently investigated. I will focus on Ising symmetries in many-body wave functions and discuss consequencies in spin nematic Mott states (SNM), Spin Singlet Mott (SSM) states and Dimerized Valence Bond Crystal states (DVBC) found in various limits.
