About the CAP
Canadian National IUPAP Liaison Committee (CNILC)
The CNILC is the Canadian national committee that acts as the liaison with the International Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). The CNILC is chaired by the CAP's Director of International Affairs and includes the CNILC Secretary, an observer from the international adhering body to IUPAP (NRC), and five CAP members representing various subdisciplines of physics. Canadian IUPAP Commission members are ex-officio members of the CNILC. CAP representatives are appointed for a period of three years, with one or two members being replaced each year.
IUPAP's mission is to assist in the worldwide development of physics, foster international cooperation in physics, and to help in the application of physics towards solving problems of concern to humanity. Each year, IUPAP sponsors from 20 to 30 international conferences and awards grants to some of them. In addition, all of the IUPAP Commissions are soliciting nominations for the IUPAP Young Scientists Prizes.
For further information, please contact the CNILC Secretary, Dr. P. Hawylak, Institute for Microstructural Sciences, NRC (M-50), Ottawa, Ontario. Tel: (613) 993-9389; Fax: (613) 990-0202; E-mail: pawel [dot] hawrylak [at] nrc-cnrc [dot] gc [dot] ca.
