The CAP recognizes that there are certain occasions in which the achievements of a scientist go outside the bounds of any easily defined category.  Such awards are not given on a regular basis, but instead take place as members of the community propose to the CAP individuals of merit whose accomplishments warrant honour.   Two such awards have been given in the past:

• 1998 Presentation to Dr. John Wylie
