Can-Ming Hu is an Associate Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Manitoba. He obtained a Ph.D. in 1995 at Würzburg University, followed by a Habilitation degree in 2006 at Hamburg University, both in Germany. His research interests include three different areas of Semiconductor physics, Spintronics, and Magnetism. He has published high profile papers in all three areas, and has supervised graduate students with research support from NSERC, CFI, EU, DFG (Germany), NEDO(Japan), and NSF(China). Dr. Hu has been a member of the CAP since 2005; he is also a member of the APS, as well as of the German and Chinese Physical Societies.
