Gautam Das is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Lakehead University. He holds a PhD in applied physics from the University of Calcutta, India (2001) and also in Physics from the University of Waterloo (2003). His research interests are in the area of photonics. He has published papers in thie area as well as supervising graduate students with research support from NSERC. Dr. Das has been a member of the CAP since 2000; he served on CAP Council in 2008-09 and is pleased to accept a nomination for a second term beginning in 2010.
