A hundred years later, our conference Physics 2005, a century after Einstein will be a forward-looking conference highlighting developments at the cutting edge and transcending some of the traditional boundaries. This is a high-octane physics conference for practising professionals.



Physics for tomorrow
The launch conference for the International Year of physics "Physics for Tomorrow" will take place in Paris,  January 13-15, 2005, under the aegis of the UNO, the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation), the IUPAP (International Union of Pure and Applied Physics) and the EPS (European Physical Society). It is also supported by a number of sponsors including French and international organizations and institutions.

Beyond Einstein - Physics for the 21st Century
The 13th General Conference of the European Physical Society, "Beyond Einstein - Physics for the 21st Century" will be a scientific highlight of International Year of Physics. This Conference offers a unique opportunity to present your research in fields that were opened by Albert Einstein through his three most famous papers, which he published in the annus mirabilis 1905. EPS13 is being organised jointly by the EPS Divisions and Groups, and will comprise three parallel scientific conferences, namely

1. Photons, Lasers and Quantum Statistics
2. Relativity, Matter and Cosmology (with ESA, ESO, CERN)
3. Brownian Motion, Complex Systems and Physics in Biology

World Conference on Physics and Sustainable Development
As part of the celebration of the International Year of Physics , UNESCO , the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), and the South African Institute of Physics (SAIP) are joining together to sponsor the World Conference on Physics and Sustainable Development , which will be held in Durban, South Africa, on October 31-November 2, 2005. This Conference will review the contributions that physics has made to society in the past and formulate a plan for the contributions that it can make in future. We expect a large participation from physicists in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East as well as from the developed world.
