Professional Development Opportunities for Grad Students
Wondering about the world of work outside of academia? Networking make you nervous? We’re hosting a workshop at Congress on Sunday, June 10th to help you hone your non-physics skills. The MITACS run event will help you build your networking skills so you can stand out in the job market. Make sure to select the Physicists in the Workforce option when you register for Congress. Participation is limited. A $35 fee applies.
Immediately following the workshop there will be a one-hour seminar aimed at helping interested students navigate the transition from PhD to post-doctoral opportunities. This free session is generously being sponsored by the University of Waterloo’s Transformative Quantum Technologies. Registration information is available by visiting our Graduate Students at Congress page.
This year’s Congress is also offering students an informative lunch-and-learn seminar about non-academic physics careers, an industry meet-and-greet, and a lunchtime industry panel session. Please visit our Graduate Students at Congress page for full details.
We hope to see you in Halifax June 10-15th!
