eFlash: Scholarship opportunity for Canadian physics graduate students

Physics graduate students are invited to apply for the 2018 Stoicheff Memorial Graduate Scholarship. Jointly sponsored by the Canadian Association of Physicists Foundation (CAPF) and the Optical Society of America Foundation (OSAF), the award is administered and presented by the CAPF on even years, and the OSAF is responsible on odd years. The scholarship is awarded in the currency of the administering society.

For 2018, the $3000 scholarship will be awarded to a CAP Graduate Student Member who has demonstrated both research excellence and significant service to the physics community. You must be a CAP Graduate Student Member in good standing to be eligible for the scholarship. Graduate student membership is free for the first year. Visit the CAP website to apply for membership or to renew your membership before applying for the scholarship.

Application instructions and selection criteria are available on the CAP website. The deadline to submit applications is Saturday, March 31, 2018 at midnight PST. Applications can be submitted by logging into member services and selecting the Scholarship Application link on the left.

All applicants are strongly encouraged to attend and participate at the 2018 CAP Congress at Dalhousie University in Halifax running June 10-15, 2018. The award recipient will be announced on June 13, 2018 at the CAP Annual General Meeting.

We look forward to receiving your applications. Best of luck to those who apply!
