A draft version of the NSERC 2020 Strategic Plan has been posted for advice and comment. You can read about the plan on the NSERC website: http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/NSERC-CRSNG/NSERC2020-CRSNG2020/index_eng.asp. The plan is open to comments until June 19, 2015.
An interview with Dr. Mario Pinto, the new President of NSERC, will be published in the 2015, Vol. 71, No. 2 issue of Physics in Canada. You can read an advance version of that interview here. In the interview, Dr. Pinto elaborates on some aspects of the Plan and describes his vision for science and engineering research in Canada. Dr. Pinto will be travelling across Canada in March and April to discuss the Plan with researchers in a series of townhall meetings; check the link above for an updated schedule.
